It really varies from year to year, but it's still one of the least likely places to be fatally wounded. The streets of London are more dangerous than the skies over it.

You can't predict a plane crash, that's why they call it "accidents", it's always unexpected, unknown & out of the blue. Lots of people are scared of flying. Maybe you should call your doctor tonight & ask for an emergency prescription for anxiety. If not, then don't worry about it so much. I'm sure you will be fine. With all the crashes that's happened in the past, I'm pretty sure they triple check the planes for engine problems, damages, etc. to prevent accidents. Safety check is strict now a days.

Do you mean commercial or general aviation? Commercial aviation crashes are pretty rare, extremely uncommon even.



General aviation crashes occur more often, and I think that's probably due to inexperenced pilot error and flying lower to the ground... but those are just my wild guesses.

about 1 /1000th the amount of car crashes. flying is very safe
